Even though barbequing is a lot of fun, the eventual clean-up is dreaded by most chefs. Grills can get very nasty very quickly and it is important to keep them as clean as possible. Food borne diseases can be quite commonly found on dirty grills, and eventually, the built-up char will affect the taste of the food. Here are some easy tips for barbeque cleaning.
Tips for Barbeque Cleaning #1 – Heat the grill first before you start to clean it. This will help loosen the char and make it much easier. You can either turn the grill on for a few minutes before you start, or take the grill off and place it in a bucket or tub of hot water. Make sure that it is not too hot to handle once you’re done with the heating process. And of course, make sure to turn the grill off before attempting to clean it.
Tips for Barbeque Cleaning #2 – Use a cleaner that has citric acid included in the ingredients. You can also take a whole lemon or an orange and slice it in half. Rub the halves along the grill to begin loosening the grime. As you work, squeeze the fruit a little to release the juice. This will help make it easier to quickly clean-up.
Tips for Barbeque Cleaning #3 – Use a wire brush. This method is old fashioned, but it works – eventually. If you have a lot of elbow grease and you don’t mind listening to the sound of metal grating against metal, this is an effective way to clean a grill. It is a good idea to combine the two tips mentioned above to help the process go a lot faster. This type of cleaning method will eventually wear down a wire brush, so you may need to keep a few on hand if you are a frequent griller.
Tips for Barbeque Cleaning #4 – If your grill has a surface that is prone to scratching, you can try using regular old dish soap with a nylon scrub pad. Look for a dish soap that is really good at breaking up grease like Dawn or Ivory. Keep some clean water in a bucket and rinse of the surface while you work. You will also need to periodically clean your scrub pad to make sure you are not spreading more grime around.

No matter what time of year it is, tailgating is a great way to share a terrific time with your friends, support your team or just have a lot of fun. While this type of event is usually found only in the USA, it is beginning to grow in popularity all of over the world.
Tailgating gets its name from the practice of using the tailgate of a pickup to hold drinks and food during the party. They are most commonly found outside of sporting events and in some cases, fans will arrive hours early just to make sure they have enough time to take part in a tailgating party.
These parties range in size from just a few friends to hundreds of people. Beer is typically present as well as barbecue foods, sandwiches, chips and other food that is easy to eat standing up. Some people do bring chairs, but typically any sitting is done right on the tailgate. Some of the more rowdy parties will include gin buckets or big buckets of mixed drinks that are shared by everyone there.
Tailgating games are also taking on popularity. Many party participants will bring along a football or a Frisbee and spend their time playing a little before the big game starts. In fact, some times, these little matches become competitive, with neighboring tailgating parties engaging in some friendly scrimmages before a game.
Although some sporting events like the Superbowl have banned tailgating parties to avoid security risks, it is still easy to find one if you’re interested. In one strange case, fans of the Santa Fe Opera held tailgating parties all throughout the opera’s season. College games are a great place to find a party or you can usually find one outside of a concert.
If you are new to tailgating, it’s always a nice idea to bring a little something with you. In a way, these parties are very much like potluck suppers. Everyone brings something to chip in and then it is freely shared by everyone that shows up. This is a great way to make new friends or keep in touch with old ones.
If you’re really strapped for a tailgating party, try holding one in your own neighborhood. This is a great way for neighbors to get to know one another and can be the start of a great block party or an annual tradition.

The most palatable of all ways to cook a steak is simply to grill it. The best grilling steaks are actually sirloin steaks, but these steaks tend to be a little bit tough. Two other excellent grilling steaks are the T-bone steak, and the porterhouse steak, because the bone or bones in them add an additional flavor to them. Rib-eye steaks also make superb grilling steaks, along with rib steaks. Because of steep prices, filet mignon steaks are not your typical grilling steaks. The best grilling steaks are those that are thick rather than thin, because thin grilling steaks tend to form an interesting crust around them, which can interfere with how the steak is cooked. There is absolutely nothing that is comparable to a barbecue experience on a warm summer day, grilling steaks with your friends and family.
When it comes to grilling steaks, the most preferred kind are marbled steaks. When it comes to grilling steaks, marbling is essentially streaks of white fat inside the red meat. The whiter you find when grilling steaks, the more likely the flavor is to be absolutely perfect. Most of the fat that is in the meat during cooking will liquefy, which leaves the steak to simmer within its own fat which offers an incomparable taste to other cooking methods.
The best trick for grilling steaks does not lie in the actual grilling process, but instead the best way to go about grilling steaks is through proper marinade use. Marinating should be done within two to three hours of when you plan on grilling the steaks, unless the steak you are working with is a flank steak, because in this case you should marinate overnight for the rest results. The best marinades when grilling stakes are acidic liquids, including but not limited to lemon juices, tomato juices, wine, whiskey and curds. Marinades are responsible for making the meat easier to grill and more tender.
Another important factor worth considering when it comes to grilling steaks is what type of barbecue grill you actually use. Buying decent-brand charcoal and lighter fluid actually does play a part in the quality of your grilling. Cheap varieties of these products do not tend to burn in a uniform way, which will prevent the meat from grilling through evenly when you are grilling steaks. You should turn your meat over two to three times when grilling steaks if you want the meat to be cooked through thoroughly and uniformly.
